Queens of the Stone Age is an American rock band formed in Palm Desert, California in 1997. Their current line-up includes founding member Josh Homme (lead vocals, guitar), Troy Van Leeuwen (guitar, lap steel, backing vocals), Joey Castillo (drums, percussion), Michael Shuman (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Dean Fertita (keyboards, guitar). Eagles of Death Metal, Them Crooked Vultures and The Dead Weather all share members with Queens of the Stone Age. QOTSA has 4 Grammy nominations for Best Hard Rock Performance.
